I started using Julia well before 1.0 and like it for the reasons you mention. But I still use Python more than Julia. One of the reasons is the downside of being an early adaptor. Some of the libraries in the ecosystem changed so often that even upgrading between 1.x versions of Julia, my existing code broke regularly.

However, I'm returning to Julia for a few reasons now, hoping that some of the dust has settled. Execution speed is the main reason.
